A little History: Wilhelm Wundt and his Experiments

In this post I will describe Wilhelm Wund, one of the fathers of modern psychology.
Wilhelm Wund (1832-1920) designed a home experiment to investigate the assertion that when stimuli reach or senses simultaneously we should be consciously aware of both of these stimuli at the same time (Fancher, 1996, p. 145). His study showed how a reaction-time experiment might be tailored to assess the duration of a central process exactly that would be mediated by brain processes, that is responsible for attention (Fancher, 1996, p., 146). Furthermore, Wundt thought that differences in nerve speed was maybe the cause of a disparity in the speeds of centrally proccessing in the brain.
